Fascinating Fascinators

 
You have probably heard by now that Kate Middleton & Prince William are getting married this April in jolly ol' England. Well its a sure bet that every lord and lady will be out in their finest to witness this huge event. So what can us Americans expect to float over the pond and influence our brides? I'm gonna bet its the Fascinator. What is a Facsinator? Long story short its a headpiece. Historically you wouldn't be caught at an English wedding without a hat on for fear of getting your head chopped off. Today, its more of the cherry on top of your fabulous outfit.

  

Traditionally a milliner would make these expensive pieces as a lace head covering similar to a shawl pulled over your head. During its comeback over the last couple of years, you may now recognize it with more of a birdcage effect, with accents of crystals, feathers or delicate beading. It can be attached at multiple places on the head with combs, clips or even the dummy proof headband.
